Having joined HP Labs on Sept 15, 1998 right after finishing
my Ph.D. from USC, my journey here has reached its 15th year
milestone today. And quite a journey it has been. Working on cutting-edge
technologies with technology pioneers has been an extremely rewarding learning
experience. I did finish my Ph.D. but the education continues, every new
research effort we take on is like becoming a graduate student again. Raplh Waldo
Emerson’s following quote has been my guiding principle and embodies my research career:
“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path
and leave a trail.”

Not sure what the future has in store, but I can promise that
the constant urge to probe the frontiers of exploration like Voyager 1 beyond
Solar System will always remain insatiable.
